The desert covers about one-sixth of the world.  There are deserts located in “Africa, Asia, the Middle East, United States, Mexico, South America, and Australia”.  The largest desert in the world is the Sahara Desert, located in Africa.  There are many other deserts, including the Gobi Desert, the Mojave Desert, Imperial Valley, and Death Valley.
